    Default Unwanted Download

I was on wifi and B&N downloaded a section of the Good Housekeeping Cookbook onto my Nookcolor without my permission.I guess they thought I would buy the whole book once I read it.The only thing is,it is now on my device permanently.(It is in some area where it can't be deleted-maybe the program area).I emailed them and told them I don't want them putting junk on my Ereader that I can't get rid of.This type of marketing is pushing me towards rooting my Nookcolor with Android.Which version should I put on?Has anyone else had these unwanted books showing up on your machines?

I have it too. I'm wondering if you can delete it by connecting the nook to the pc.

I would guess you would be able to log into your account on the B&N web site and remove the eBook from your library.

that "sample" came with the update back in April. it is considered to be like the other "how-to" things on your nook like the intro video. they were showing how the "vooks" work now, the enhanced books with video. haven't seen anywhere where BN has said they will remove it or that you can remove it. you can take it off your homescreen but not off your device.

According to 'nook' on facebook, the sample can't be removed. I just took it off my home screen and put it on my 'reference' shelf, so I don't have to look at it all the time.

This is really annoying. I want to be able to at least archive anything they dump onto my Nook. Makes is seem like I paid for " the use of a Nook" not really own the Nook. I don't have control of a product I thought I was purchasing.

Then I recommend that you softroot your nook color and learn how to keep B&N from updating it and adding unwanted content. You have control you just have to take it.
