Exciting News! Nookboards has a New Owner!

Hi guys!

I have some exciting news to share with you today! Not too long ago I was approached by Vertical Scope about purchasing Nookboards. They wanted to add our site to their expanding section of technology sites. While this wasn't something I had considered in the past, I did take their offer into consideration and ultimately decided to sell to them. As you all know Nookboards is my baby, so parting with it is not an easy thing, but my life is changing, and I haven't had the ability to keep up with the technology of the board. Some things are just beyond my know how. Vertical Scope has the people on board to do things for our site, the biggest being an upgrade to SMF (the software we use to run the board), which has been a long time coming. This is a huge benefit that I could not do on my own. Upgrading alone would allow for things like an app to read the forum on phones, like many of you have been asking for ... and maybe we'll get lucky and they can even fix our smilies!!

I would love to say that nothing will change, but of course I cannot promise that. I can say that it is not Vertical Scope's intention to come in here and change things all around. They really like our warm and friendly community that we have built together and they want to do their best to help us grow even more than we have over the past 2 years. I'm not going anywhere either, I will still be around, perhaps even more so now that I don't have to worry about all the backend stuff!!

Well, I'd like the annoying pop up ad thing at the bottom to go away. It is very distracting Plus, it really has nothing to do with the forum. If it

So here is a nit picky thing, why have words started to be underlined and made green? These seem to be random words. The words 'electronics' and 'batteries' for example. Not something I would think to click on to follow a link or look up in a dictionary.

I've noticed that ads pop up from the underlined links if you hover your cursor over them. It's totally annoying, and I do my best to avoid them.

I call them "landmines" because your pointer makes them go off when it touches them. They are highly annoying.
