Default Is There a Need to "Reset" the Nook Tablet?

With an Ipod, it's advisable to "reset" it every once in a while by holding the on-off button and the ipod button at the same time. With the tablet, you can do something similar by holding down the on-off button and the nook button, but it is mentioned in conjunction with resetting the entire tablet back to factory settings.

I don't want to do that (and there is a way to exit before committing to that); but I'm wondering if there is a need to do the first step of the reset by holding those two buttons down at the same time.

A rep in the store told me the table "resets" every time you turn it off, but she wasn't a tech person and I don't know if she was correct.

    Thanks,

I would think you are asking about a reboot and it is probably a good idea when you notice the device is getting rather finicky about things.

a soft reboot is holding down the power button until the power off option appears and saying yes. A hard reboot is holding down the power button until it turns off( I have found that this one works best if something is going wacky).
