    Default Freebie Friday!

I decided to start this thread so that I (or anyone else) can post the Friday Freebie every week because I for one always forget to look for it and I'm hoping this will remind me if I see it in the forum every day! lol Plus, it will give other people the chance to grab the books while they are still free if they don't always go look to see what book is up.

Anyways. Today the book is The Strangely Beautiful Tale of Miss Percy Parker. I'm disappointed because I've already bought and read this ebook BUT for anyone who hasn't I HIGHLY recommend it! It was really great and if this was a DTB offered for free I'd be picking it up so I could lend it out to other people to read!!

Here's a direct link to the free book but you can also get the low-down on it at Nook's Unbound Book blog too.

I just happened to download this book last night while I was in the store. There's also an instore offer of a short story right now by the same author, so if you like her, you might want to drop in to B&N!

The book starts out with a group of children that come from all walks of life in the city of London, and are all called together one night. They don't know each other but each discovers that they have some special "power" for lack of a better word. Maybe gift would be better. They form a group and basically grow up together, they spend their time together using their individual powers collectively to rid the city of evil spirits and such. I am not very good at describing books and I am not doing justice to this one, but let me say it has a little bit of everything - paranormal activity, fantasy, a romance, mystery, suspense.

It was a well written book and I'm hoping she comes out with another novel sooner rather than later.

Todays offering is God Don't Like Ugly by Mary Monroe. If you want to download it, today is the day to do it because it says it's only a free ebook for one day!

I've never heard of this book before but I have a feeling it's an older book that might be somewhat of a neo-classic? In the vein of Toni Morrison?? Not sure but maybe someone else can give us the low-down.

This is not a book I'd normally pick up, but since it's free I'm going to download it and keep it in my library for one of those days when nothing I normally read sounds good to me.

Guess I forgot to read that! For some reason I was thinking I had heard the book mentioned before with other Toni Morrison and authors like her.

    Thanks for the info!!
