So do we want to do Judas Unchained or hit up a different book like something by Asimov?

I've been rereading a bunch of David Weber books, and I know Baen has the first few in each series free on their site. March Upcountry might be a good one...not as complicated as the Honorverse books, so easier on those who don't have as much time to read.
Free is good. I've never read a Weber book either so I'm up for that for sure. So on the table we have:
Judas Unchained
March Upcountry
Any other suggestions? I'd like to start a new book this weekend(Or a new book for the club...I've read many other books

I'd like to knock off some of the books from austarnet's top 100 list: http://home.austarnet.com.au/petersy...oks_rank1.html
A few of particular interest to me:
Neal Stephenson - The Diamond Age
Dan Simmons - Ilium
Kim Robinson - red mars
All available at B&N... But I'm flexible, and will try anything!
I read "Red Mars" and the second book (I think "Green Mars") long ago and I remember not being overly impressed but at the time the books may have been a bit dry for me. I hesitate to do a trilogy book at the moment but we have some good names on that list. Stephenson is another I'd like to read as well.

I'll second for March Upcountry. It sets the scene for a good series.Originally Posted by Codefox
Lets do it then...a free book from a well known author sounds good to me
Start on Sunday? I'll start a topic for it soon so we can get attention from other people.

Here's the links on the Baen website...

Since I've already read it, if you give me an idea of how many pages/what percentage of the book you'd like to do for the first week, I can suggest a stopping point without anyone seeing any spoilers as they skim through for chapter breaks.![]()
Thanks Kat...I'm thinking like 75 pages a week.
