If there's a call for a January sci-fi/fantasy book to read, I'd be more than happy to join in the discussion.

Yeah, I've been thinking about this. I REALLY dropped the ball on the last book and I'm thinking of running the next one in a way that's a little easier for me and I think the vast majority of the readers here. I really read too fast to read a book over a 4 week period. I would be quite happy though to have a 'book a month' thing that we can discuss as we finish it.
I have an insane travel schedule for work so it would be easier if we did it this way![]()

I think you did fine for your first try running a book club book. Yeah, I finished the book a lot quicker than we anticipated as well but that just means we can make adjustments the next time.

Well, I'm 30 minutes from leaving to get on an airplane...so people should start getting their suggestions up on here for what we should do in January. I expect 10 - 15 books listed when I land. Get to work!![]()

I'm pretty swift with the reading, as well. It's amazing what an eReader, regardless if its Kindle or Nook, can do to ones' reading speed!

I am about 1/3 of the way through "we few" at this point so i am running out of books in that series
--some thoughts--
foundation
dune
neuromancer
do androids dream of electric sheep
Speaking of the Foundation books, I just picked up copies of Asimov's Galactic Empire novels (Pebble in the Sky) which sort-of precede the Foundation novels in continuity. Those could also be a choice.

I'm ashamed to say I've read very little Asimov and would love to read a few of his books this year. I'd love to go with an Asimov book

That's three votes for Asimov.
