I thought it would be orderly of my to create a list of all the folks who have piped up and said they wanted to participate (and those of you who said you might be able to flitter in and out, depending on schedules and stuff)

I am happy to say that we really have a LARGE group, I'm so excited!

The <3 's denote people who were not sure if they were going to be able to participate fully or not.

Notice I put the word rules in quotes in the title. That's because I'm not going to be real strict with this book club, I've said it over and over and I mean it - I want this to be fun.

The Historian divided up easily into chunks during the 8 week time-frame by chapters. So, instead of posting the weekly reading assignment each week I am just going to consolidate it into one thread. Each week will be 10 chapters. There are 79 chapters, including an epilogue, so the last week will be 9 chapters and the epilogue.

I know some of you are already reading the book, or will want to read ahead, that’s fine with me. The one thing I ask though is that you make sure when you answer the discussion questions that you don’t write anything that is not in the section we are on, in other words NO SPOILERS PLEASE!!

Each week I will post discussion questions but i want this to be as interactive as possible, and so I would like each person to ask at least one discussion question during the 8 weeks. Feel free to pose more than one question if you’d like. Please PM me with the question(s) so I can post it in the original group of questions.

I will post a Chit Chat thread that's separate from the others, so hopefully we can get to know each other more and talk amongst ourselves about things other than the book we're reading.

This is getting long so I will break it up into another post.

Since I am so stoked to be hosting this book club (and I also love Halloween) I am going to also be hosting a drawing for the participants of this book club for a bag full of goodies, and a runner up prize. Since I don't want this to be a motivating factor for people to sign up for the book club, I'm going to only add names to the drawing of people who have contributed to the club, and since the goodies are Halloween related I want you to be able to enjoy them for most of the month, so I will probably be doing the drawing after the first week or mid way through the second week.

I'm not going to be a meanie about what "contributing" means.. I think we all know it when we see it. I will make the list of who goes into the drawing in a thread where I also reveal the goodies being offered. If you are not comfortable sending me your address then please let me know so I know not to include you in the drawing.

We for sure have room for you!! Glad to have you I think you will definitely enjoy reading this book and having people to discuss it with - that's what I missed the most when I read it the first time, nobody I knew had read it!
