No, I'm still behind. I'll be there in a couple of days!

oh awesome! yeah, I was just wondering where everyone else was, because I know I was SUPER behind this week - I actually made myself sit down and read the 10 chapters in 2 days - Sunday and Monday

It was a lot harder for me to come up with questions for Week 5, so there aren't very many, I'm hoping at least one of the questions spurs a good conversation though, or other people will have good questions/thoughts to chip in!

I have the same problem. It's even more inexcusable for me though because I'm supposed to be the host for this book club

But I'm eagerly awaiting everyone's responses to Week 5's reading.. !! lol I don't want to be the first one to answer my own questions.. that just doesn't seem right..

Book club reading is not how I usually read a book. When I read it's really hard to get into a story, so when I read I usually try to read the book all in one go so that I don't have to retry getting immersed into a story. So although I'm enjoying the book, I'm having a hard time getting into the story.

I hated Helen, until the Istanbul trip. For the most part she hasn't done anything to show that she's a likeable character on this trip, but for some reason I admire her alot for shooting the creepy librarian.

Anyone have any theories on why the creepy vamp librarian ran out into broad daylight with no problems, while his poor victim had a reaction when they took him outside?

I think the creepy librarian is much more of a vampire than the victim that just got bitten - so maybe he's built up a tolerance to the sunlight. ?? That's not even something I thought about though, great observation! It is curious!

Reading the book this time around has been different - it's been harder for me to get into the story as well. I'm not sure it has to do with the book club or the chapter divides or anything, I think it's more that I'm thinking too much while I read - trying to come up with questions, so basically I am reading with a different mindset. Before I was so sucked into the story right from the beginning, it's so delicious. So maybe, after the book club is over, you can pick up the story again a year from now or so, and see if things have changed.
