How to Pretty Up Your Links & Signature! :)

The code you will need to use is simple, this will be the final result (except of course you will have substituted your own link and title:

Smashwords

That code translates to THIS in a post or signature: Smashwords


To start:

You want to link to your book at XYZ (in this case we're going to be using Smashwords) type in the tag:

[code][url=[/code]


then add your link:
[code]
[url=http://www.smashwords.com/[/code]


make sure to add the closing bracket ] at the end of the link:

[url=http://www.smashwords.com/]

Next you'll want to add the title for your link,( this is the part of the link that will show up for people to click on):

[url=http://www.smashwords.com/]Smashwords

Now, just add the closing tag to finish:

Smashwords

If you feel like giving back to nookboards, you can send a private message to Fireflywishes with the link you want in your signature and she will get back with you with the appropriate affiliate link. Affiliate links are available for Smashwords, B&N, Amazon and Kobo. (or you can go here to create an affiliate link on your own)

Great instructions. The "Add link" button in the editor isn't the most user friendly, so knowing how to do it correctly, albeit manually, helps a lot. Thanks.

For sure, and you have to type it in manually anyways for a signature, and it looks SO terrible to see an entire hyperlink from B&N - they're just sooo long! Whatever I can do to make the board look "purdy" I'll do!

Yes, BBC Code is a thing all it's own, I think I have a handle on BBC Code and HTML.. now if only I could wrap my mind around CSS - but I guess that's another discussion!
