My Nook arrived last night at 6:30PM  laugh  I would like to add my own pics as a screensaver and wallpaper.  Could someone give me a detailed tutorial how to do this?  Thanks.

It'S pretty easy. You can choose any picture you like. It is not even necessary to resize it or put it to black and white. Eventhough I would recommend resizing the picture with some software.

If you want to create a new screen saver. Put the picture or pictures you'D like to have in a new folder and give it a name. Than you drag and drop this folder into the screen saver folder on your nook.

If you want to have new wallpapers you just have to put the pictures you like, in the wallpaper folder. Don't put these pictures in a seperat folder. Only the pictures into the wallpaper folder. And that's it.

Now when you switch on your Nook and go to Settings - Display - Screensaver/Wallpaper your the name of the pics will show up there and you can select them.

Hope that helped

FYI,

You could resize them to:

Wallpaper size = 760x600px
Screensaver = 800x600px

Grey photo may look quite good on your PC, but it looks much less contrast on Nook.

So I usually convert my photo to grey (B&W) and retouch it a bit to have more contrast before putting it into my Nook.

Some color photo may have more contrast on Red channel, so get rid of Blue and Green channel before converting the Red channel to grey or B&W.

I might add something that I discovered after I had figured out how to do all of this:

In My Documents there is a file called "nook User Guide", which you read like any other book. There is a detailed explanation for much of what you need to know there.
