    Default Missing Nook! Oh NO!

I set my nook down on the kitchen table at work to mark my "spot" (one of our subtenants likes to jack it with his stupid sweet potato, even though he knows I sit there at the same time everyday to eat lunch - move over buddy, I've been here longer and this is my office!). Then I walked downstairs (okay, I took the elevator) to get a bag of peanut M&M's. Yum.
I came back up to throw my food in the microwave and my nook was GONE!!!! My boss (COO of the company) casually strolls in to grab his smelly tuna and I put my hands on my hips and demanded to know where my nook had gone. He feigned innocence. If you meet this man, you know he is the shadiest man on the face of this planet just by looking at him. I said, "Your head will roll if I don't get my nook." [insert stink eye here]

    He looked at me.

    I squinted at him.

He sauntered - yes, sauntered - over to the microwave, pulled the nook off the top (about eye level with me, but it's white, the nook is white...) and handed it to me. I said, "Thanks, your life depended on this." Then I sat down and continued reading my latest good book. There could have been bloodshed today.

Good, you kept your cool. I would have went for the head first, then demanded my nook.
    peace out...

The most difficult thing about these situations is to now for sure that the person you suspect is to blame, otherwise you'll just make yourself look like an arrogant prick.(especially if it's ur boss).
That is the worst part in life, I hate these situations - quickly figuring out who's fault is that and how to make them pay.

I never leave my nook unattended unless it is at my house. It goes where I go. I gotta go potty...it comes with me. I just don't take chances and wouldn't even at my work, if I had a job that is.

It's actually pretty safe at my office (save COO's who try to be pranksters). We're a small company of about 15 people and I'm the only girl so they try to get me when they can. Most of them are offsite during the day so there are usually only 5 of us in the office at a given time besides our subtenants. It's a locked suite and pretty safe.

They just like to be jokesters. -.-
