Default can we start a list of libraries

since getting my nook and reading the postings here, I've been joining various libraries that offer cards for ebooks free or at low cost regardless of geographic area.

So far, I've seen the Philadelphia Free library for $15 a year (free to those in PA with a library card in their area) and the Alachua County Library in Florida that offers a free card for ebooks to anyone who applies. Here's their website:

    www.aclib.us/books/media

If you know of others, maybe we could start a little list going so we can all take advantage of these?

    Thanks!

    Nan

AmberLi - Thanks for that link! I had never seen it before. It's definitely an awesome resource and has been bookmarked.

I think several threads like these have been started.

But I don't think anyone has gone through and compiled one list from all the libraries mentioned. But after seeing AmberLi's link, I don't really see why it would be necessary. It's pretty comprehensive.

wow. That's a great resource. Thanks.

The one from Alchua County in Florida does not seem to be listed there so if anyone finds a library not listed there, it would still be nice to post it here.

Thanks so much for the link for the Alachua County Library. So easy to get the e-card.
Already applied for the Philly library.

Wow! Thanks for this thread. I've only had my nook for a week and have had a blast downloading free ebooks. I went to Alachua Co Library, got an ecard and downloaded a book already. Perfect snowy day to cuddle up on the couch under a blanket with my nook......

Just applied and received the FL one. Thanks for the link. Too bad there is not one national registry where you can use one library eCard number for all of the particpating libraries in the U.S.
