Thanks everybody. I took my nook (hehehe) out of the box. And thanks to Rachel's unboxing video, I had no troubles at all. I turned it on and registered my nook and gave it a name....Lolita. My kids were excited to see what it was all about so I tried to explain to them what it was. They are 4 and 6 years old. They immediately wanted me to read a book to them so I downloaded the free version of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland and read them a couple of chapters.
I have the Hutton envelope for it right now but am rethinking my cover choice. Since it is just an envelope cover, I may return it for a cover that will hold Lolita and fold back for when it is time to read. I still have the tag on it so I think I will exchange it tomorrow. My B&N has a large selection of covers in stock. That will also give me a chance to see if I can get my free cookie!
So far I really like it. It came 3/4 of the way charged so I didn't charge it before using. Hopefully that won't affect the battery
