Has anyone considered adding a chat room to this site? I know its a tall order but it seems this site needs a forum and chat separation. Or at least a way to detach yourself from a thread?

Yes! .. as long as it's one of those that can be accessed from a website, as well as a client... so I could log on from school/work....

i was thinkin about dedicating a day out of the week for everyone to log on and get together to chit chat currently being talked about with "the ladies" and i. however if there's a way to just log onto a private website where we are the only peoples allowed that'd be rockin too

i'm up for it! I just hope whatever it is works with my public network i'm on.. we have a very stupid net nanny that restricts a lot of stuff, and I never know what it's going to block. so as long as it doesn't get blocked, i'm all for it! I've love to be able to chat with people in real time. I know some people are annoyed about the thread jacking that goes on (we have been trying to cut it down alot, and having our own private forum, since it's mostly amber, me, donna, and IoV that do the deed, has helped a lot..) but it's just so easy to get off topic, especially when it's a topic that doesn't have very much.. uh length or longevity on it.

anyways, if anyone can explain what an IRC is, that'd be great.

Amber had the idea to do a chat room through Yahoo, but I can't seem to download the Yahoo Messenger that's required - my network can be so slow sometimes, it keeps telling me it's going to take over 2 hours to download!!

I haven't downloaded it, but I know it will work for my laptop because I have a webcam and a microphone right on my laptop above the screen.. (and at one point when I first bought it, it had a SKYPE sticker right there).. but the problem is I don't have a voice, so unless there is some way to type and Skype at the same time, it's a no-go for me.
