Default Nook Newbi in New Mexico (for now at least)

I am a stay at home Mom who never seems to find time to read. My hubby is active duty Navy. Yes we are in the middle of the NM desert. Because we are in the middle of nowhere near cities are at least 40 mi away, spend a lot of my time waiting on others in the car. So I am hoping with this wonderful Christmas gift I will get to read more. I am normally only a bathtub/water reader but now that I am sitting and waiting so much maybe I will read else where too. Unfortunately I will have to wait for Christmas morning to open my gift. That is ok, because I have some will power and the package has yet to arrive. It should arrive today maybe if I am lucky.

Hello and welcome to the board! My Christmas wish for you is that you get enough time to read, in addition to all the other things you've got going on!

Thanks to you and your husband for your service.

    Hello Fish,

Welcome to the NookBoards! I spent a week in Socorro for a bomb training class a few years ago...nice place but very desolate!

My wife and I thank your husband for his service and for yours! I'm ex-Navy and there is no harder job than that of a Navy wife!

    Hello fish.

    Welcome here.

You and I, (and a handful of others around here)
will all be tearing into some new nook packaging on Xmas day. ! woot! lol

I love NM. (though the heat is a bit much), and i do love snow.

Some of the craziest things Ive ever experienced happened in NM. lol

a large number of my family are/were also military,
    mostly Navy.

Have you ever seen anything "interesting" in your NM skies?
or how about hubby, in the Navy?
I know, he couldnt talk about any of that until you guys are elderly anyway.. lol

My grandfather shared some very interesting experiences he had while in the Navy, before he left this plane..
and all my research since then..
has only led me to believe he was being perfectly honest.
Which i had no reason to believe otherwise..
I was just being a "healthy skeptic"back then.. lol

Anyway, Nice to be amongst you,
Thanks to you and yours for your sacrifices.
They are greatly appreciated, even if it often seems they are not.
    Love n blessings abounds. <3
