You might like Out of Time by Monique Martin. Time travel, a little paranormal, a little romance, and good writing. It was one of those books that mixed up a lot of things I like into one story.

May I offer my book 'The Time Hunters'. It's got 23 out of 26 Five Star reviews on Amazon (UK) and 11 out of 13 Five Star reviews on Amazon.com

Sadly, I don't seem to sell any on the nook

I can recommend some indies to you. I'm an author myself and this year I created a book group specifically for indie books. The site is www.22wb.com. The list is on the Blog Talk Radio page. We discuss each book during the month and then the author comes on my radio show.

    Some indies I enjoy are:
    Tim Hallinan (crashed)
    LJ Sellers

My first two books this year are promising:
Libby Fischer Hellmann, Set The Night on Fire about the 1960's
Joshua Graham, Beyond Justice - a courtroom / murder trial drama

There are few places that are centralized that review indie authors, it is difficult to find reviews so I came here hoping people on this board may have read some indie authors they would like to rave about. I was not attempting to be insulting to indie authors, in fact I am attempting to make an effort to purchase MORE indie author books, but I won't do so unless I can get an unbiased review, or recommendation.
I understand just wanted to say there is good and bad on both sides of the wall, good luck with your search

The first indie book I read was Soul Identity by Dennis Batchelder, and it's still my favorite. There is also a sequel (and I'm not sure but I think a third one is coming out??) I think you will enjoy it, it's got a little bit of everything and it's very believable.

And did I mention it's FREE?? Can't beat that! VERY good read!

I just loved Karen Cantwell's Take the Monkeys and Run. It's a comedy/mystery, which reminded me of a modern Lucy and Ethel caper.

    A fun read.

Carl, I'm having the same issues. Great sales on Amazon and not so much on the Nook...

I think all of the good indie authors are in the genres I don't prefer. I read a lot of YA and lean toward fantasy. I sample things that look interesting to see if they'll hook me, but here's the honest truth of the matter - I do most of my reading through the library. That's one of the main reasons I got a nook instead of a kindle. I'm cheap (or I read so much that I can't afford to buy everything I read). So I don't do a lot of buying - every once in a while.

I have, however, also heard very good things about Take the Monkeys and Run, which was mentioned earlier, but I haven't read it (yet).

When I find a good indie author in a genre I like, I will definitely spread the word.
