Default RE: What about gifting books in hopes of a review?

I've done some kindle giveaways to ask for/promote reviews of my book. Can someone tell me if this is done with Nook books? And if so, how to go about this?

My book, Absolution, is a gritty thriller set in New Orleans, which may be to some people's taste but not others.

I'd appreciate any advice from authors who may have done this.

Unfortunately, can't be done on B&N yet. However, if you're on smashwords you can give a coupon code...

    Hi Susan

You are also able to host a book giveaway at Goodreads, and they give you a widget to post on your website or any other site that can take it to advertise the giveaway. Note that Goodreads stipulates that the books you giveaway must be paperbacks. Many of the readers at Goodreads do post reviews. I have been hosting a giveaway of 8 copies of my book, Secrets From The Dust (see widget at the top of my home page), and after 5 days more than 600 people have registered for the competition. It ends on 21 May 2011. A more certain way of getting reviews is to contact book bloggers who read and post reviews at their blogs, Goodreads, Amazon and various other places. There are several lists of these people floating around on Kindleboards.

    Good Luck

Some authors here also give away copies of their ebooks for reviews. I've read 2 books so far for reviews and have 2 more on my list. In each of those cases, the author has emailed me the epub file and I've side-loaded it to my nook.

    Just another option for you!
