I completely understand, that is the primary function for it - to read books and documents
but I just want to know, if I can browse some news page throughout the day, for example, bbc.com or similar, what kind of problems could I experience?

Disregard any flash-based content, plus vids (even provided via html5 means due to the absence of codecs even if support is in there).. No probs, but a huge PIA reading it, I'd say

If you're not that young you might remember those 14" CRT monitors with 800x600 resolution that I do remember.. I always referred to them as hollows you're looking at web through. So if you're like want to be back in time, you're good to go

Also, remember that any page movement on the bottom LCD display will be automatically reflected on the top eInk (e.g. synced to it) which has 4Hz refresh rate.. and if you'd happen to open a page with animated something (gifs or javascript coded image sequences) that'd be a pain to watch on the eInk since it'll be constantly refreshing.

I heard that kindle has a major problem - it cannot connect to any Wi-Fi network that has a welcome screen or login.
Is it the same for nook?

Considering that Kindle doesn't have Wi-Fi I would say it can't connect to wireless access points.

Now that Nook has an "experimental" browser it is supposed to be able to connect to wireless hotspots that require authentication. I've not tried it myself.

I've not had any problems anywhere. I just tap the LCD screen where I need to login and away you go.
