    Default HELP! Ghosting and 1.5

So, I woke my Nook up yesterday and I noticed very bad ghosting. Every previous page remains on the background of the current page until it becomes unreadable.

I called tech support and went through the steps of resetting to factory default, and they told me I need a new one. Oh, but wait. My warranty expired last month. Now I have a Nook shaped coaster.

I rolled the Nook back again, and noticed the ghosting doesn't exist on on any pre 1.5 firmware version. I called tech support, and they said this was the first time this had been reported.

Anyone have any ideas about how to fix this?

    Thanks.

Try doing a factory reset and then reinstall update.

Maybe it wasn't clear in my first post, resetting to facotry default doesn't fix the problem once it updates to 1.5 again.

@ joblo: First welcome to NOOKBOARDS. If what you described here is being attributed to the 1.5 update, I don't remember anybody posting about that here on this site. On the otherhand, maybe my memory is failing.

I am hoping somebody might have some ideas for you.

    It is definitely 1.5.

I just reset back to 1.1 and updated back to 1.5, checking for ghosting between each update. The problem did not occur all the way through 1.4, but once 1.5 hit the ghosting was back.

This is so frustrating because it is bad firmware and BN will not provide me with support because my warranty expire a month ago.

I know this is a long shot but have you tried fully charging your nook BEFORE you install the 1.5 update? And also have you tried to redownload the update just to be sure that you don't have a corrupted version? Sometimes corruptions do occur when transfering files via download.

My latest update was done at full charge. In addition, I re-download all updates via wifi every time I update.
