    Default Stuck on Formatting...

I purchased Manifold Time by Stephen Baxter from the bn.com web site. It seems to load okay in the Windows Desktop Reader but after I download it to my nook and try to read it, it just sits on the "Formatting..." box. I manually deleted the file by connecting by USB and browsing the file system. I then re-downloaded and it still does the same thing. Anyone else running across this? I sent an e-mail off to [email protected]

Okay, I found a post on the B&N forums that was similar. Someone was saying they were missing chapters or something and when they copied the good file from their PC to their "my documents" folder on the nook, the book was complete. I did the same thing and now I can read the book from "my documents".

I wonder if they're screwing around with the file format when downloading to get the book to show up in the nook cover flow section. Very strange.

    ...and annoying

I forgot I had e-mailed tech support about this. Finally, 4 days later they send me an e-mail saying they need my order # before they can help me.

GAH! How annoying! It's good that you've gotten it to the point of being able to read it, but still...

It doesn't bother me too much since I found the workaround, but I'm going to keep going after tech support about it. If I happened to run across one random book that has a problem, I'm sure there are others like it.

The last CSR asked me to do a "hard reboot" by taking the battery out for 3 seconds. It doesn't make any sense to me that it would have possibly have worked. And it didn't.
