    For an extra 50-60 bucks..
    One could get a nook!

    any potential buyers..
    If you only have $100~
You would be wise to collect another $60 and get a nook! lol

    Kobo regularly $139?
$100 even seems steep for this thing.

The Kobo didn't even make my radar when I was considering an ereader.

mine either. I have a Sony, Kindle and the only one I even considered was the NOOK! Hubby tried to get me to go with a few others, but I said no way Jose! The Nook is everything I want/need

Same here, for me it wasn't even Kobo or SOny, it was just between Kindle and Nook. Nook won out for several reasons but the library option threw it out of the park for nook. It's esp wonderful for me since I can't actualy GO to a librayr to borrow books and I dont have a very large budget (read next ot nothing) lolto spend on ebooks

I love my nook, I can't imagine life without it now!!

But I am glad the ereaders are getting to be so popular and that prices are going down - ebook sales are good for everyone. Hopefully publishers will get the clue ebooks aren't going anywhere and come up with a more sustainable business model.

The problem with getting a Kobo is where are you going to buy your books once Borders goes under as a company? Are they going to cut a deal with another online book retailer so the Kobo owners aren't left in the cold?

If I am not mistaken Kobo allows epub and epub is a very popular format - they can get books almost anywhere except for Amazon. They aren't limited to Borders.

True - not to mention there's a Kobo store that predates the Kobo reader. They have pretty decent coupons at times. I've paid for a few Kobo books (still haven't paid for a B&N eBook.)

Borders now has the Sony Pocket Reader for $50 off ($129). So does Best Buy.

I would love to get an ereader for my daughter. I'm holding out for another nook but I would get the Kobo for her. She's eight and has lost her Nintendo DS about half a dozen times so I'm not going to spend a lot on an ereader. Maybe a referb nook for her First Communion in May.
