Default Long-Awaited Pictures Post: Handmade and eBay Covers!

I was posting in the thread a while back about the covers issue, but I can't seem to locate the thread at this time so I making my own post, showing pics of the covers I have made and the ones I am happy with that I bought. Forgive the links and my ignorance on how to post actual pics. I hope you will check out the pics anyway...

This is a general picture group of all the Nook covers I had when I took it. The light blue silicone case was my first Nook case, and I was happy with it at first, until I bought the purple faux leather cover and decal bundle on eBay, and I LOVE the cover, not too thrilled with the Decal. Next time I will try DecalGirl's work and see how I like it. This purple cover is in the book-like style I wanted, and remains my fav. cover for my Nook to this day. I also had a purple gel 'sleeve' type cover for my Nook, the kind that has cut-outs for the screen and buttons, etc. but I didn't have it in this picture. I also painted and colored my original Nook case that it came in, just for fun...

These covers I originally bought just recently, for my Pandigital Novel, but the black genuine leather cover does not fit the Novel, although on the eBay auction it did meet the correct measurements, the straps inside are too tight to fit over the corners, so I am trying to replace them to make the straps suit the Novel. Otherwise, I may just use it as another Nook cover. The pink faux alligator case also opens like a book and has the straps, and fits the Novel nicely, and is being used for the Novel currently.
A side note: when I won the auction for the black leather cover, I asked the seller, steamedegg, for a free iPad screen protector to use on my Novel, since eBay and the rest of the web are EXTREMELY limited on PDN accessories, and the only screen protectors I could find are $25 and up! He was very generous and threw in the protector for free! I also recieved FAST and FREE shipping on both these items. (If you want links to the auctions, just let me know.)

This amazingly versatile carry-all was originally bought at a yard sale as a book cover, but then I realized digging through my handbags and backpacks box that I had a perfect tote for all my gadgets and accessories! I have in the front flap: Nook adapter/plug, Nook car charger, Nook USB cord (short), Novel adapter/plug, Novel car charger, SDHC card and case, cell phone, cell phone charger, mp3 player, and mp3 player car charger! In the rear pockets I have the Novel (and when I leave I add the Nook to the pockets as well) and a static-free microfiber cloth to clean my screens with. I am very happy with this carry-all as a tote for trips away from home. It also has a handy heavy-duty hanger on the straps for hanging on my walker when I want to carry it with me everywhere! All that for $1.00!

Now for the HANDMADE section of this post...

Starting out with my embarassing attempt at making a hollowed-out book cover, I have never done this before, so the effect is crappy and sloppy. I may try to neaten it up in the future, but for now the quest has been abandoned. I used an old X-Files hardback book and dustjacket, and if the pages had come out neater, and not been so hard to do, I may have finished this project.

I started this long ago, when I first got my Nook, and was originally going to make it a Nook cover, but when I had bought the ones I have from eBay, I decided to make it suit my Novel, so I did, though the inside didn't turn out as well as I'd hoped. I wanted it to also hold my charger, but Pandigital made the charger so husge it can't fit inside through any efforts. I used an old Wild Animals hardcover book that I absoloutely ADORED, because I love pandas, and the cover is like a canvas artwork.

This is my pride and joy. I spent about a week perfecting this cover. I made it for my PDN, because as before, I am happy with the eBay covers I have for my Nook, and needed one that looked decent for my Novel. I used an old Dragon book cover, took out the pages carefully, and made the sleeve out of a thick velour placemat that matched the colors in the Dragons book. I use the book cover just as a transportation method for the sleeve cover. I also added a iron-on dragon patch to the sleeve for eye candy. I am very happy with how it turned out.

If you want to, please feel free to add your own pics here and comments! Thanks for looking!

    Nice stuff!

Looks like you know how to add links. You do the same to add imagges. In the reply box where you see the globe icon for inserting urls is an icon for images to the left of it. You just click and insert the url in the link. Or you can copy your link into your post then highlight the link and click the image icon and it will place the image code at both ends of your link and your pics will show.

Thx Kevin for schooling me, but my images are a bit big so I'd rather they stay in a link, so they don't ruin anyone's screen resolution, like some posts have done mine.
Anyways, the links are from LiveJournal, so no need to worry about viruses or whatever could be in a bad link.

Nice creative work! I saw on DecalGirl's facebook page that they introduced Pandigital skins.

Just in case you didn't know, there's a link. I considered getting a Pandigital, but I was already pretty much sold on the Nook. Hope you are enjoying it!
