Default Gauging interest in a Romance Book Club

    See this post: https://www.nookboards.com/forum/inde...34393#msg34393

For the purpose of this poll, we will focus on the following list which was taken from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Romance_novel

    Contemporary romance
    Historical romance
    Romantic suspense
    Paranormal romance
    Science Fiction Romance
    Fantasy Romance
    Time-Travel Romances
    Inspirational romance
    Multicultural romance
    Erotic Romance

If your interest lies in a sub-sub genre, let me know. I do believe that each of the basic noted sub-genre’s of romance books can be further broken down. Just one example is 'erotic' romances in these areas:

    Western
    Historical
    Modern
    Contemporary
    Older Woman, Younger Man
    Gay/Lesbian
    Taboo
    BDSM
    Paranormal
    Time Travel
    Fantasy
    Multicultural/ Interracial

Great idea! I updated the poll so people could make multiple choices since many of you like more than one type of romance.

    Cheers!

    You had me at hello.

I love this idea. My mom has a book club that I initially joined, but honestly they read to many depressing books for me to read with them. I'm reading A Reliable Wife with them now and it's the first one I've read with them in over five years. What can I say, I'm a one track reader and Romance in it's many genre's is it (I voted for all of them by the way). I'm not sure how an on-line book club works, but sign me up!

BTW: I think if there's a romance bookclub why not put all of the romance genere's in the pot to select from each round. IMHO It may expose some readers to a new genre that they've never tried before and may come to find that they actually enjoy.

I'm the most fond of Regency, historical and erotic historical but I'm willing to branch out and read/discuss something else.

Paranormal romance is my favorite genre, but erotic historical romance is pretty good, too! I'm generally not a fan of contemporary romance, but there are some that I've enjoyed.

Hi everybody... Just monitoring progress on this poll.

Due to upcoming religious holidays for me as well as personal stuff, I am hoping for everybody's patience if we get to starting this read-a-book together adventure around mid September.
