It seems so. I got this dictionary with my account http://search.barnesandnoble.com/Mer...780877797753/? and when I downloaded it to my Nook it doesn't show up as a readable eBook. So I'm assuming it is the new default dictionary since I have been able to find more words than in the past.

Interesting, I used to be able to see the MW dictionary and now I cannot (It is visible in my list on BN). I also notice that the dictionary works much better. I wonder if this was an undocumented change in one of the releases?

Same here. I am a native speaker but my vocabulary is not that great apparently
I too have found the MW dictionary better than the built in dictionary.
Oddly enough, and I can not remember the order I did it in but it seemed the dictionary operated better after a software update

Out of curiosity, how did you see all the files on the Nook? I rooted mine recently, but I can't find any of the system files, just the files I added.
