    Default replace ru.launcher icons

    Hello,
Do you know how to change icons for ru.launcher? In nookdev website it says:

To use your own icons with this launcher, simply put them in the "my icons" folder on the internal memory, named <activity_full_name>.png and <activity_full_name>_focused.png.

Well, that is exactly what I did, but the icon I tried to change, stayed the same.

So, I thought of a different way - opened the .apk file and replaced the image inside. But I couldn't install the new .apk file, nook refused, most likely because package signing key was altered. Even though, I signed the package manually, nook still refused to install.

Do you know how to install new icons?

If you contact our member Mos I'm sure she would know. Just do a search for her and PM her.

I actually been wanting to try this too. Where did you find the "my icons" folders? I can't even find that. Or do they mean you need to make one?

Yeah you need to make one on your internal SD card (NOOK usb drive by default).

Well I've given up with this my icons thing and actually trying to modify the very source of the launcher using MyEclipse IDE and building the whole .apk file. Atleast this way I'll learn how to make apps for android But I have run into a MAJOR problem. That is, I can't take off read-only from folders, i'm running on windows 7. I found that a lot of people are experiencing this problem, you know, when you open properties for a folder it says: Read-only (only applies to files in folder) and it is marked with a blue square. If I uncheck the square and press ok then it closes properties window, but if I open it again - there it is, the square is back again.
If you know a solution to this problem, please reply, because I can't download any source files, if read-only is enabled, cmd.exe denies access to writing new files.
    thanks

    Tried. doesn't work.
The only place that isnt read-only is the very root of C:\\

ehhhhh this is just irritating, I managed to modify, build and install ru.launcher with my new icons, but the thing is - you can only edit the default icons, not for the downloaded applications, such as nookMarket, calculator etc.
So I just installed nookLauncher, because it supports ''my icons'' feature, making life a hundred times easier. But this launcher has a really bad thing - you cannot remove b&n home button from the default button list. Kinda stupid, because I don't use it, never have, never will.
Any ideas on how to remove b&n home button?

You can go into adb shell and update the database directly.
    it's under /data/data/com.nookdevs.launcher/databases/

look for "com.bravo.home.HomeActivity" in table APPS and delete it.

I was able to remove the B&N button as well with 2.4.1 softroot. I can also remove or add every button even extra downloads. maybe its time to reinstall 2.4.1 from scratch or something

    added to nookdevs page today

    Icons

To use your own icons with this launcher, simply put them in the "my icons" folder on the internal memory, named <activity_full_name>.png and <activity_full_name>_focus.png.

(This feature is not yet implemented! However, it is going to work in the next release, quoting Sasha Nilov: "This option will be fixed in the next release + psd template!")
