Good stuff here! Thanks for the detailed instructions. I plan on putting a 16 gig card in mine even though I may never fill it up. You never know though because mp3s take up a lot of room and so if I put any audio on there 16 gigs may not seem all that big.

By all means - this info needs to get out.

In regards to it being a "cheesy" slot, I agree, but unfortunately it is the standard for internal card slots like this - I guess they figure if it's behind the back cover it's not designed to be done but once. I've only seen one device that had a push in - push to pop out side slot for the Micro-SD cards and that was an LG cellphone that would occasionally eject the tiny device for no reason. The cards are just so tiny, they're limited in how they will mount.

Regarding the 1 GB card, it should be supported. If you can borrow a different card from someone before spending more money I'd recommend it. I was more concerned that the larger cards wouldn't work.

I can confirm a 16GB Class 6 A-Data card and a 8GB SanDisk (Class 2?) card both work. I'm keeping the 16GB card in but I probably don't need nearly that much. I've side loaded a bunch of books already and it's way too much to navigate through. Even if I put a bunch of music on the device, I think my 16GB is overkill.

Interesting. It doesn't take the regular SD card that so many cameras use? It's SD Micro? Hadn't heard of that.

I just google searched this topic and now I'm thinking that the OP here is about the microSD card that holds Android, not the storage card for books. Is that correct?

This post is for adding the Micro SD for additional storage. To access the OS/internal storage Micro SD, you have to unscrew the back of your nook.

I just went back and read the posts in this thread about the SD memory card. Now I'm confused. I got tThe info in my previous post about microSD card/Android here:
