    Default Nook color root

It's been done, but there's not really a 'general public' accessible version of the root yet.

Are you going to root your nook color? I don't want to void my warranty. I bought an extended warranty since you cannot replace the battery and I want to have some peace of mind about the device over the next couple of years.

Peace of mind is nice I agree... But a rooted android device would be awesome I think... From what I have read tho the ROM needed to root the nook is strictly on the MicroSD card... My guess is with a few button presses and inserting the SD card you would have a rooted Nook then once you removed the card it would be factory... Based on the OMAP hardware specs. This would be nice for Warranty conscious people . We can have the best of both worlds and when it breaks/battery dies we can remove the SD card and Warranty replace our device.

That would be cool if the rooting takes place on the SD card and you can then boot from it. I would be interested in having a rooted NC to be able to run some android apps.

I don't know, I think I will see what b&n has in store for us with their aps before I think about rooting.

Me neither. But they've just started tinkering with the NC. I'm hopeful they'll soon come up with something a bit more user friendly.

Its not to bad even with my limited Linux experience... but yes a Mac/Windows batch would be much easier... Also to install anything android based on it you have to REDO the entire process... seriously not worth it at this point...
