Default Took the plunge and rooted my NC

Okay. I finally did it. I rooted my Nook color and finally got it to where my PC and it can communicate using adb.

I am using Gingerbread and followed these instructions:
    mrm3.net/nook-color-how-to-gingerbread-guide/

So far I Love it. The market really works and I have put the Nook app on my Nook, , Aldiko, and the Kindle app.

Of course I could not resist Angry Birds because of all the hype. To be honest I do not see the reason for all the hype. As far as other games I have a few solitaire and blackjack ones.

Thats about all I have on it for now. It does great.

One nagging question that I have now that is bugging me. When my NC was stock I could sideload ebooks. That was great because I would convert a book I was writing to an epub and be able to read it on my NC.

Uh, not to sound like a dummy, but how in the world do I do that now?

Please keep in mind that I am not a guru. It took me 3 solid days to get my NC rooted properly. LOL!

You should be able to plug your NC into your computer and transfer the file into the Nook documents folder.
That's what I did when I wanted to start going over The Vampire's Curse for revision.

I'm so glad I ended up doing the root. I wish it didn't take forever to reboot it, though.

I have got two of my books in the document file in epub format on my fully rooted nook. When I plug it in I can see them. But I can not find them on the Nook itself anymore now that it is fully rooted.

Be sure it is in the My Documents area and if you still cannot see them try the refresh. If you still cannot see them try rebooting. You will likely see them after that.

I figured this one out. I had to reformat the sd card using my computer. Then stick the formatted sd card back into the nook.

The only place I could find the epub files before was in a directory emmc then in that directory my documents. But, when ever I would tap the epub file I would get an sd card error.

So I did the above. Now the normal looking directories show up when I go into file manager. I just use alkido to open the epub files then add them.

I had the same situation and I posted it on cyanogenmod7 forum and the hacked NC does not showe the sideloaded books the way we are used to.
You actually haver it figured out.
I was told to use the Alkido app and it worked great.
Don't forget, get the Overdrive app. Overdrive loads books in the NC over the air. Boy, I do miss that app!!
