Default ? Simple Touch Reader & Audio Books

We bought our oldest a Nook Classic this past Christmas (and I've used it more than him ). Well, we had to go in to get it replaced, because he stepped on it That's when we saw the new STR. I forgot to ask while in the store today: does it play audio books and have a place for earbuds like the Classic does? DH and I are both looking at getting one in a few weeks.

No. No MP3 (or other) music player on the STR.

There's no speaker or audio output.

However I read somewhere that there is Bluetooth in there (not enabled). And if the chipset also includes audio (it might be hard to get chipsets without it), then it might be possible to have wireless audio at some point. It's probably a lot cheaper to have wireless audio rather than to stick a speaker, physical volume controls and audio jacks on a device. You'd no doubt need to have audio content on SD since there isn't much room internally.

At least we can hope it is possible, until proven otherwise.
