    Default Touch screen not responsive

My simple touch has been acting up for about a month now..

It works fine sometimes. Sometimes it doesn't. When it doesn't, the touchscreen is just completely non-responsive. I can't swipe to unlock. I can't click on anything. Sometimes it happens in the middle of a book - it will let me change pages with the side buttons, but nothing on the touchscreen. A couple of times it has frozen altogether, and I had to reboot the whole thing.

Usually, the only way I can fix it is to reboot it or plut it into my computer or an outlet for a few seconds.. and then it'll work when I unplug it. For how long, who knows.. because it almost always becomes unresonsive again, sometimes within the same reading session even.

This problem has become pretty much daily now. I don't know what to do.

Same here. I took it to my local B&N. The nook rep there finally got it working in the store and her only suggestion was that I should have bought the extended warranty. Very frustrating. Sometimes I pick it up and everything works fine. Most of the time, not.

That happens to me a lot, and I just have to reboot it and it starts working fine again. It's frustrating!

I did a good deal of research on the Internet on this problem. It seems to have been happening since 2011. One suggestion seems to help. Clean the screen. It seems this device locates your finger using LEDs. If things get dirty, they can't work. I used compressed air and blew out around the edges, then wiped down the screen with microfiber. I have had no problem since performing this simple cleaning.
