Default INSIDE the Simple Touch Nook...

I was going to post this up in the nook tech area, but there wasn't a section for the new nook yet, so...

I just spent the last hour going over the pictures of this teardown, and am impressed - the new ST nook in a much more mature machine than the original nook - they obviously learned a lot from having the original in the field.

I'm even more liking the idea of getting this new machine.

For my fellow technoids who enjoy looking at pictures of machine guts, TechRepublic has the pictures up here:

    Enjoy!

Hhhmm. No mention of an empty slot for a 3G modem?

Sometimes you can tell what's next for gadgets by the empty slots on the PCB. The manufacturer will have the circuitry in place on the current model, that way they avoid the cost of having to rework the device to add a new feature in the next gen. Not always, but if anyone knows... could there be a 3G NST in the future?

i took my simple touch apart because the screen was frozen. I was going to disconnect the battery and try plugging it in but in the process, broke some wires off the circuit board attached to the battery. Anybody have a diagram for putting these back on? By the way nothing has worked to unfreeze the screen, so any help with that would be appreciated too!
