    RIP Mirasol?

I know many of you were hoping that the next Nook would be a color e-reader, but Engadget published a recent post on it:

Remember that Mirasol e-reader display Qualcomm was hoping to release this...

    Re: New nook?

I actually do not have a single complaint against the new Nook. The shape is something I really like and I believe it will do just great. The sides are great for gripping. I have been using my wife's...

Sticky: Poll: Re: Your opinion of nook color! Rate 1-10

While I cannot rate the Nook Color as I do not own one, just fiddled with a friend's, I wonder what percentage of the use is actually used for reading among owners. My friend bought it mainly for use...

    Re: What if?

Starbucks actually purchased Seattle's Best and is marketing it as the coffee "for the rest of us". I like it better as well because its not as strong but still has a lot of flavor.

    As for...

    Re: Nook Touchscreen

Ok, will try that. The sluggish touchscreen is probably the most frustrating part of the Nook I have when navigating around because of my larger hands. I swipe very easily and only navigate the touch...

Re: This thread is entirely pointless!

In reality there is no such thing as pointlessness. I think Seinfield proved this. people will look at abstract art and say they don't get the point yet they cannot take their eyes off it. I think...

    Re: Cover needed?

I have two Nook covers and I don't really use them much because I prefer to hold the Nook bare than holding a cover that holds a Nook. Another option is a Nook case which you slip the Nook in when...
  11. Re: eInk vs. backlight: which causes more strain

I use the computer screen in my office to read and research a lot and I do end up having eye strain (usually 4 or 5 hours) but tend to press as long as I can. I would come home with eye fatigue and...

    Re: What if?

Didn't Harper Collins stop ebook sales directly but still sell ebooks through B&N and Amazon (as well as other outlets)? The two mention still have thousand of titles from HC in stock. For HC to stop...

    Re: Quick question

Well, I actually switch between 66 books year round and then there is a varying fiction book I will select to read as a hobby and then most likely one other non-fiction theological book.

Sticky: Poll: Re: Your opinion of the nook! Rate 1-10 ...

Sueb999, really sorry this happened to you. I am on my second, but my first lived for quite a while until the screen started having lines in the middle. My second one was just fine. Here is to hoping...

Re: nook page turns faster than Kindle 3

I have my wife's Kindle 3 and my Nook side by side. The Nook comes out of sleep mode in 5 seconds and the Kindle in 2. The page turns are almost identical though not always consistent. Don't know...

    Re: 1.5 battery life improvements?

after getting settled down and back to my reading I finally got a chance to really put my Nook battery to a test and it was found wanting. I wonder if that major upgrade improved a lot of features...

    Re: Whatcha reading?

The first four books were my favorites. I lost interest an moved out around the middle of the fifth. Read them way back on my Palm TX.

    Re: ? Nook for PC

Well, on your Nook for PC there is a refresh button on top of the page next to the "NOOK for PC" logo. Select that and it should update your books from the server.

    1.5 battery life improvements?

I am just wondering if anyone has experienced a longer battery life with the Nook 1.5. I have noticed it does not lose life when idle as mine used to. Seems to be staying on the 9/10 full longer for...

Re: Non color sucking hind wind

I will probably get the NC, but it is not really a replacement for the Nook. I believe that the Nook Color is a great thing and a wise move from the marketing standpoint. There are a great many more...

    Re: Nook Update now!

I only have one shelf - all the books I am reading now and the books I plan to read next. Pretty much what I used to have on my night stand pre-Nook.

I have noticed the fonts are a bit bolder and...
